Glasses

I’ve been going kind of nuts recently buying glasses online, because they’re so cheap.

Here are a couple of pairs that I got from Vooglam


These are progressives. They are currently the
ones that  wear the most


This is a pair of mono focal intermediate range glasses that I use on my computer




This pair has a monofocal reading prescription



This pair is monofocal distance
I got it because casting directors kept wanting an Iris Apfel look


This pair is monofocal distance 
I use it for hiking or other outdoor activities
It's also useful for driving because it fits under my sunglasses, 
which the other pairs don't.


This pair is safety glasses.  I decided to get it as bifocals, which I had never tried.  Since they wrap around, I thought progressives wouldn't work.  I really like the improved peripheral vision that I get with the wrap arounds.   Unfortunately the transition area between the near prescription and the distance prescription is not well done.  There's a large blurry area at the point of transition, which is dangerous.

The Divorced Billionaire Heiress

 May 6-9 I had my first sleep away acting gig.  We were shooting a vertical format web series of mini-episodes.  This is a remake of a series that has been very successful in China.

The director gave me a nice compliment.  She said I was the prettiest grandma in NYC.  Swelled head. 

I bought myself a little souvenir on my own




The team that made this series is very impressive.  Since there is vertical format, they can have multiple cameras at once, each one focused on one actor.  They only had to do one or two takes of each scene.  Normally they have a separate take for each view, but this way they don't have to take separate takes for different views.

 My sister-in-law found this clip of me acting.  It's a trailer for an audio podcast series called "Mystic Tycoon"  It was originally called "Secret Trillionaire."

I haven't embedded from FB before.  I think this works.  I hope it continues to work.  The clip shows me acting as the evil Lisa in this series.

Looking at this ad, it appears that the video clip that we filmed was a teaser for an audio series on Pocket FM.  I personally haven't recorded any audio for that series, so I don't know much about it, other than what is filmed here.

journaling about art

 I finished this piece during an online meeting for worship (Quaker) today.



I started to wonder if in fact God was trying to tell me something with this drawing. I journaled quite a bit about it. The following is the start of what I journaled.

can drawing be a ministry?  Am I drawing something important?

big bang

fwo Jupiters in a binary emitting radio waves

Could there be meaningful signals in those waves?

Did the universe begin in a big bang, or is this just an illusory part of something else?

are we inside the event horizon of a black hole?

What expands from the center?

Lies?  Gossip? Rumors?

The truth? Love?  Charity?

Hamas is surprisingly resilient?  

Why are you surprised when they have no place to go?

Their backs are against the wall.

Gang leaders trying to form a government?

Could they do a good job?

Any job would be better than what’s going on now.

We cannot impose nation building from the outside.

It has to come from them.

Are there such voices from inside this drawing?

Are there voices trying to come out?

Can truth come out of the maze of disinformation? 

From the overload of any information?

Can there come order?

Can there come peace?
